It's Christmas Time!

As soon as the tree was put up and decorated, Emilie started playing Santa and saying "HoHoHo" all day long. Jakob would play Santa's kitten or Santa's elf. They also improved their wish lists on a regular basis, learned to draw Santa, drank a lot of hot chocolate, and had to show their best smiles for the camera when I tried to get a good picture for our Christamas cards. This year we went to the 'This is the Place Heritage Park' Christmas celebration again. It was a lot of fun. Jakob and Emilie loved it and learned so much about how the pioneers celebrated Christmas. They change the program and set up every year and it also gets better every year. This year they had even more activities for the kids. I think the highlights for Jakob and Emilie were the train ride, the living nativity, visiting Santa in one of the barns and feeding the reindeer, the puppet show, and the crafts. A special treat were the golden jingle bells they received in one of the little houses. The 'pioneer couple' explained that every time they ring the bells an Angel gets his/her wings. We heard the bells ringing all the way home and a lot of angels were able to start flying that night.
