Winter

Living in Utah also means that the seasons switch from one day to the next. It is still warm during fall and all the sudden we get snow and we know winter has started. My family and I really enjoy the snow. We try to play outside as much as we can. We get out our sleighs, build snowmen (the rotten carrots in the back are from us), and have snowball fights. Right behind our subdivision we have great sledding hills. This year Emilie wanted to sled on her own. She is the brave one and does not get scared that easily. Anyway, she sat on the sleigh, had fun sledding down the hill and upon arriving at the bottom of the hill tried to catch herself with her hands and fell face first into the snow. It was a reflex and she could not stop doing it. It was funny for us to watch and of course pretty upsetting for her. So Emilie decided that she did not like to sled. By the end of the winter we were able to change that again.
In the beginning of the winter we also drove up to Solitude several times and hiked around Silver Lake. It was so beautiful and quiet. I cannot wait until spring/summer when the snow has melted a bit and our car is able to make it up there again.
